Welcome to a bushveld paradise. Stay in a tented camp within the world-renowned Timbavati Game Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa. Experience the Big 5. This is an affordable wildlife safari during which you can explore the African wilderness on Game Drives and Walking Trails. The camp is eco-friendly, making use of solar power and gas energy.

DAILY ITINERARY FOR GUESTS

Morning

05:00/06:00 – Wake-up call 

05:15/06:15 – Morning coffee and rusks in the dining room before departure.

05:30/06:30 – Morning safari departs.

07:30/08:00 – Stop for morning coffee-break somewhere in the bush.

09:00/10:00 – Back at Camp for breakfast/brunch.

11:00 – Check-out.

11:00-14:30 – If you are not checking out, enjoy time around the pool or just relaxing in the lounge with a book.

Afternoon

11:00-14:30 – If you are not checking out, enjoy time around the pool or just relaxing in the lounge with a book.

14:30 – Lunch.

15:30/16:00 – Afternoon safari departs.

Evening

17:30/18:30 – Stop for a sundowner break.

18:30/19:30 – Return to camp, time to freshen up or just relax around the fire before dinner starts.

19:00/20:00 – Dinner.

Safari Highlights

ACCOMMODATION

You will stay safari-style tents are situated under thatch (grass-roof structures) and can be made up in either twin or double-bedded accommodation. Enjoy your morning coffee on your wooden deck or freshen up in your semi-open en-suite bathroom (shower, WC and handbasin). The camp can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests in total in 8 safari tents where you will be treated to warm South African hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy and soak up the true African wilderness.

A TYPICAL DAY ON SAFARI

Experience two daily safari game drives, morning and late afternoon. A spacious game viewer comfortably seats 8 guests for immersive wildlife encounters. Knowledgeable field guides lead each safari, sharing insights on animals, birds, and vegetation. Safety briefing provided before your first safari adventure.

About the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve 

The TPNR is within the Greater Kruger open system. The Reserve falls within the internationally declared Kruger 2 Canyons UNESCO Man and Biosphere, and within the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area (GLTCA).

The TPNR also forms part of the Associated Private Nature Reserves (APNR), which is a conglomerate of privately owned nature reserves. In 1993, fences between Associated Private Nature Reserves and the Kruger National Park were removed to encourage wildlife migration, and the Greater Kruger National Park was born.

Booking Information 

INCLUDED IN YOUR RATE: Accommodation, three meals per day, tea, coffee, water from the dispensing machine, 2 safari activities per day (morning and afternoon game drives), morning optional walking trail instead of a morning game drive, emergency medical assistance and evacuation, VAT, unlimited WIFI and room turn down. EXCLUDED IN YOUR RATE: All drinks, curio shop purchases, transport to/from camp, gratuities, all items of personal nature, all drinks, Timbavati Reserve vehicle entry fee if driving yourself, Timbavati Conservation Levy of R575 per person per night (Adults) and R288 per person per night (Children), community donations and Travel Insurance. WHAT IS THE CONSERVATION LEVY USED FOR? The Conservation Levy is used entirely in the funding of the operational activities of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. 10% of all Conservation Levy income is used for community development projects through the Timbavati Foundation. CHECK IN / OUT: Check in: Between 12:00 and 14:00, enjoy lunch before embarking on your afternoon game drive. Check out: At 11:00, after your morning game drive and breakfast. GETTING TO THE CAMP: our options are either self-drive, a 6.5-hour road transfer from OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg or to fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport and be transferred to the camp an hour away. Please do ask and we can help you organize transfers. CHILD POLICY No children under 10 years. Children 12 years and over will pay the full adult rate. There is only one tent suitable for 2 adults sharing with a child younger than 12 years.
